Dr. Christian started teaching piano lessons while still in high school and has several decades of experience with both pre-collegiate and collegiate students. She has given pedagogy presentations at the local, state, and national level on a variety of subjects, including how to teach group lessons, how to introduce early classical repertoire, and teaching students with ADHD.  

 

At College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, Dr. Christian taught applied piano, piano pedagogy, collaborative piano, piano literature, music history, and class piano at College of the Ozarks. A full professor, she taught there from 2014-2026 where worked with piano majors, piano minors, and composition majors. Her students have won awards both at the state and national level.  

 

Dr. Christian is the adviser for the MTNA Collegiate Chapter at the College of the Ozarks which was selected to give speaking presentations at the 2022 and 2023 MTNA national conferences, and a poster presentation at the 2026 conference in Chicago. She organized a Fall Piano Festival on campus every October for area music teachers and their students, and started the college's very first Summer Piano Camp.  A member of the American Liszt Society, she teaches for the Excelsior Piano Academy in Sondershausen, Germany near Liszt's home in Weimar.
